About the Author

Charlotte Voake is one of the most acclaimed contemporary chindren's book illustrators and has been shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award a total of four times. Her picture book Ginger won the 1997 Smarties Book Prize Gold Award, and her other books include Tom's Cat; First Things First (shortlisted for the Smarties Book Award); Mrs Goose's Baby (shortlisted for the Best Book for Babies Award); The Very Best of Aesop's Fables (shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award); Amy Said; the Read and Wonder title Caterpillar Caterpillar (shortlisted for the Kurt Maschler Award); Mr Davies and the Baby; Here Comes the Train! and Elsie Piddock Skips in Her Sleep. She is married with two children and lives in Surrey.

This is basically a very entertaining book about family meal chaos. My sons loved it and it certainly brings a wry smile to my face too. Simple bold illustrations and easy to read text. Mum and Dad want the perfect family meal but that's not going to happen with these kittens. "Oh no, not lettuce" they cried, "we all HATE lettuce" Purrfect.
