5.0 out of 5 stars A great choice! Magic and mayhem for the younger set., 23 Feb 2001
By A Customer
Esmeralda has magical powers but she doesn't get away with much mischief. Her mother is a fortune teller who uses her crystal ball to see if her daughter is misbehaving. After Esmeralda turns a cruel boy into a frog, she and her mother are forced to set off on their magic carpet to find yet another new home. When Esmeralda starts her new school, however, the temptation to use her magic powers is too great to resist. The result is lots of fun. This book is very imaginative and especially appeals to beginning readers. It's large print and chapter-book format (60 pages) are great for the child who is anxious to read a book that looks more grown-up.
