Product Description

Product Description

An award-winning detective spoof by the author of "Granny". When a dwarf comes into the office and leaves a package, Tim Diamond, the world's worst private dick, is faced with his toughest case yet. And when the office is ransacked, Tim and his too-smart younger brother Nick open the package to discover a box of Maltesers. Nick's quick-thinking saves the Maltesers from Tim's stomach, but can he solve the mystery? Who was the dwarf and why was he murdered only days after his visit? Why is the Fat Man after the Diamonds? And how can a box of Maltesers really be the key to a three-and-a-half million pound fortune? Antony Horowitz is the author of "Groosham Grange" (winner of the 1990 Lancashire Book Award), "Granny" (shortlisted for the 1995 Children's Book Award) and "South by South East". He has also edited "The Puffin Book of Horror Stories", and has written numerous screenplays, including "Robin of Sherwood", "Poirot" and "Anna Lee".

5.0 out of 5 stars Falcon's Malteser, 4 May 2005
Another top story from Mr Horowitz. Full of fun and humour for both children and their parents!

The plot involves a deceased crime baron, a very thin Fat Man and a special box of chocolates.

Nick Diamond and his older brother Tim find themselves babysitting a package on behalf of a South American Dwarf, called Johnny Naples. Soon Johnny turns up dead and half the crooks in the world are after the Diamond Brothers.

Full of twists, turns and laugh out loud humour, this book deserves a place on everybody's bookshelf!

5.0 out of 5 stars A clever combination of thrills, chills and LOL comedy!, 29 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Nick Diamond: Poor and can't do anything about it. But doesn't wnat to be considered a charity case. Tim Diamond: Poor and can't do anything about it. But does want to be considered a charity case. To make money, Tim is a full-time self-employed private-eye. His business is called Diamond Investigations Inc. But as Nick says, the only inc. in that office was in Tim's pen! This business isn't the most successful London business of all time, so Nick and Tim are surprised when they get they get called-in on by a dwarf! He hands them a box and tells them by no means, to open it...

This book gave the best laughs of my life. My favourite book of Anthony Horowitz ever!
