Product Description

Product Description

Max Payne for PlayStation 2 is the same third-person action shooter game based in New York's grimy underworld, for the PlayStation 2 console. Gamers follow Max, the undercover cop, in a complex story of murder and deception. The high-intensity gunplay combined with realistic particle physics and moment-to-moment movie sequences illuminate the action and take gaming realism to new heights. "Bullet time" first introduced in the blockbuster movie, The Matrix, plays a key part in the game. When gamers perform certain dives or rolls, they can slow time, which offers a great advantage in battle. Not final cover.

From the Back Cover

The BradyGames Max Payne Official Strategy Guide provides detailed strategies for all main chapters and multiple levels of the game. A comprehensive walkthrough including in-depth coverage of all weapons and enemies is provided, plus secrets and cheats are revealed to uncover all mysteries for every scenario in the game. Tips on maximizing the benefits of "bullet time."

3.0 out of 5 stars MAX PAYNE STRATEGY GUIDE, 7 Dec 2001
By A Customer
Well i bought this book for the PC and wasnt that impressed, to be honest the game is not that difficult to complete without the book. However saying that, there are a few sections where the book comes in very handy and the tips that it gives allow you to quickly progress to the next stage of the game. I can assure you that there is nothing worse then runiing around a level for 10 minutes lookign for the exit, its gets very annoying.

Final verdict, a good buy if you are looking to complete the game extremely quickly, but no essential to finish the game.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worthy Guide For A Worthy Game., 15 Jul 2009

Being stuck on a brilliant game isn't funny, especially if it's Max Payne. I haven't finished the first one yet so when I found this guide to help me through this bit where I'm stuck at, it gives very helpful advice though where I am is very frustating! So if you need the guide for the first Max Payne game, this is for you explaining the rightful path throughout.
