Product Description

Product Description
Max admits to killing the young woman whose still-warm, disembowelled body was found beside him - but he claims to be suffering from DID, a multiple-personality disorder and common alibi for murderers. Strawberry-blonde psychiatrist Irene Cogan is brought in to assess his claims and is astonished to find that Max has many more alters - or alternative personalities - than any DID sufferer she's previously encountered. But what Irene doesn't know is that one of those alters is a suspected serial killer the FBI know as Casey - a man responsible for the disappearance, and almost certain death, of several women. Women with just one thing in common - strawberry-blonde hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strawberry Blondes Forever, 23 Mar 2005
By J. Ravenwood "psycho-lab-rat" (Guernsey) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Up until about a month ago I had never heard of Jonathan Nasaw, I purchased "27 Bones" from my local bookshop and decided to give it a whirl. I have just finished reading "The Gils he adored" this is one of those books that is difficult to put down, this author is in the league of such modern day literary talents as Barker, Kuntz and King. The book simply begs to be read cover to cover - there is a horrible cliché which is so often overused nowadays but this is a real page turner. Maxwell is not just psychotic, he has the ability to make Hannibal Lector resemble Winnie the Pooh! The really disturbing thing about this book is that there are real life "Maxwell's" in this world - who knows you may even be sat next to one whilst you are ready this, gosh what would Miss Miller think about that!

5.0 out of 5 stars Terrifying stuff!!, 3 Sep 2005
By Tessie Bear (Cambridgeshire) - See all my reviews
Having read his 2 later books with great enjoyment I wondered whether his first would be as good - I was not disappointed! A brilliant novel with just enough technical stuff about the DID (multiple personality) condition to whizz the story along. Ex-Agent Pender is a character I came to care about - he also made me laugh alot!!! Excellent page-turner with a sting in the tail - I say no more!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good read, 4 Dec 2008
By Mojo147 (Tamworth, Staffs. England) - See all my reviews
This is a good read with a well thought out plot. But where this book caught and held my attention was the insight it gave you into the persona of the murderer. The basic plot is about a man with multiple personalities who takes us on a journey that is not predictable.
