5.0 out of 5 stars Re-read so many times, the front cover has worn away!, 7 Dec 2002

I began reading the Scarpetta series some years ago. Each book has been passed around my family time and time again. This is the second in the series and is a must for any crime fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Atmospheric, Chilling and Evocative, 22 Jul 2003
By A Customer
Having purchased all of the Scarpetta books written to date, Body of Evidence has got to be my favourite for several reasons. As usual, Patricia Cornwell skilfully confronts the reader with a horrific murder and leaves no forensic stone unturned as one by one the tiny pieces of evidence and inspired detective work by Scarpetta and Marino reveal clues to the identity of the perpertrator. There is passion and romance for Kay and as an extra bonus a vivid although realistic description of the Florida Keys that made me want to go and see the sunsets and the clear blue water for myself. The characters are interesting and the plot just bowls along so you just want to keep on reading. Best of all Lucy does not feature in this novel. Highly Recommended to new Scarpetta readers.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thoughts on Body of Evidence, 28 Nov 2005
By A Customer
I have just finished reading Body of Evidence, having previously read Post-Mortem. Once again Dr Kay Scarpetta finds herself the target of a dangerous psychopath. Overall, the plot is good although it does get lost in a couple of occassions. I do, however, feel that the book is let down by the out of date, unnecessary and, frankly, offensive comments in relation to homosexuality/AIDS. I'm glad that attitudes have changed since this book was written.
