There was an ancient evil formerly known as Elizabeth Wither, an evil that had existed in dozens of human hosts over the thousands of years of its existence. Wendy Ward destroyed Wither and thought the evil was defeated. She was wrong. As Wither died she cursed Wendy and now the young Wiccan must use her supernatural gifts to defeat it.

The curse calls upon a seven-foot-tall monster with razor-sharp teeth and a taste for human flesh. An enchantment camouflages the beast so it looks human. It views a magical line, like a rope, that leads straight to Wendy no matter where she roams. Once it kills Wendy it will be free. Its hunt begins.

Wendy is aided by Alex (her boyfriend), the Crone (Hannah's future self), ten-year-old Abby (who is a shapeshifter), and Kayla (who is still contaminated with Wither's black blood). Wendy must learn more magic and quickly. The creature is closing in and time is running out.

But although she may have destroyed Wither physically, her legacy still continues in a bitter curse she placed upon Wendy in her final dying moments. A curse that has awoken a carnivorous yellowed eyed, seven foot beast that will stop at nothing until it tastes her sweet flesh between it ravenous fangs ...

Bram Stoker Award-winner John Passarella has done it again with his latest novel, 'Wither's Legacy', the third (and possibly final) chilling part to the critically-acclaimed Wendy Ward series.

Passarella has proved himself to be one of the most highly-gifted and enthusiastic writers in the industry, and Wither's Legacy is no exception of his unique writing perspective. His plotting, dialogue, and attention to detail are as fine-tuned as ever, as is his uncanny knack of drawing the reader in for more after every page. Passarella also shows an in-creased understanding of his characters within the novel, but doesn't spare any from his un-suspecting hit list.

For a chilling read this winter (or any time), 'Wither's Legacy' comes as highly recommended as you can get. A fine choice for any bookshelf.

Even if you have not read these first two books, Passarella does not leave you out of the mix. He has a great way of weaving a story so that you will not be lost if you did not read the first two books. This is the longest book in the series and Passarella really gets into the characters and lays out their paths starting from the aftermath of the last book. He really has a way of bringing the characters to life and making you care about them. He really solidifies their relationships to each other and to us.

Wither's Legacy dives into the horror of the story when Wendy realizes that her battle with Wither is not over and Wither has left her a curse. And Wendy must prepare for some great evil she knows nothing about. It is a race against time and fear to try and defeat the Monster of Wither's Legacy. Wendy must gather all her strength and rely on her friends to help her hone her skills and be ready for what Wither throws at her. With Wendy and her friends' futures are uncertain, does Wendy stand a chance against this gruesome winter monster that is magically attracted to her? Who will Wendy lose because of Wither's curse?
