Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

Click, Clack, Moo is, of course, the sound of a typing cow. When Farmer Brown's cows start leaving him typed notes and demanding better conditions, a stand-off is inevitable--until neutral Duck steps in to mediate. Doreen Cronin's original storyline is perfectly complemented by the bold illustrative style of Betsy Lewin in this refreshingly unsentimental picture book. With its quirky humour and sophisticated vocabulary Click, Clack, Moo cleverly ensures that adults will enjoy reading the story aloud as often as young listeners will want to hear it. --Helen Baker --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Product Description

When Farmer Brown starts to receive typed notes from his cows demanding electric blankets, his problems are only just beginning...Farmer Brown has a problem. His cows like to type. All day long he hears Click, clack, moo. Click, clack, moo. Clickety, clack, moo. But the problems really begin when the cows start leaving Farmer Brown notes. First it was electric blankets...where will it end? And when the animals don't get what they want they go on strike, of course! Doreen Cronin's unusual text and Betsy Lewin's quirky illustrations make this a hilarious story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Click clack genius!, 6 Jun 2003
By E Carter (Oxford, Oxfordshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I love this book. I bought it for my niece, for her birthday, but might just keep it myself! The wonderful tale of the cows who type letters to the farmer, making demands on him is just charming, and the involvement of the ducks, as 'a neutral party' is highly amusing, especially the end.
The illustrations are bright and colourful, and any young child cannot fail to be won over by them.

I would recommend this book. It is well illustrated, has a lovely story, is funny and very amusing. Each time i read it i snigger, especially at the end! The story can be taken at face value by the younger readers, but does introduce some very important adult themes about impartiality, mediation and compromise. This doesnt detract from this delightful little tale at all, in fact it makes it all the better for the adult reader, who will, no doubt be reading it to their child.

4.0 out of 5 stars This will keep them aMOOsed for hours., 5 Jul 2002

I own this book and really enjoy reading it to my 20 month old daughter. I think the Amazon review is spot on as this is a great book for adults to read as it is fun and exciting which you pass on when you read it. My daughter has few words in her vocabulary so far but what she does know is Moo and Again which she is saying every time I finish.

5.0 out of 5 stars Click Clack Woo!, 5 Dec 2003
Just fabulous. Gets all the children's book stuff just right. Great and funny illustration, simple but interesting story, proper characters and a good gag at the end.

My 3 year old daughter loves this (and the sequel, Giggle Giggle Quack, which is almost as good) and it's a firm favourite in our house - makes a great present for other kids too, but buy a hardback copy for yourself as back-up - this will be a future classic!
