Pierette is back in Citharista after having won her battle against the Eater of Gods. She only wishes to continue her studies of the nature of magic in the timeless keep of tha mage Anselm. But the Eater of Gods has not yet given up on bringing about the dark time. So when historiy suddenly startes to change the godesse Ma urges Pierette to part the veil of years and once again try to prevent the dark time from coming.
This book is very interesting with it's suggestion on the nature of magic, and if you're interesting in timetravel and it's effect on the world, you really should read this book. Also you get a nice look into a bit of roman history and gaulish/celtic myths. Pierette is a very sensible and logically thinking girl and her I really like.
