Product Description

Product Description

The third instalment in the acclaimed Structure series sees Delgado and Ashala catapulted into a future Seriatt occupied by the Sinz - a three-species race of humanoid, avian and amphibian form. Cut off from their distant home world of Hascaaza, the Sinz on Seriatt have established a barrier around the planet to protect them while they await reinforcements, plundering its resources as they prepare to invade other neighbouring worlds. But despite their apparent strength, the Sinz are vulnerable, reliant on the basillia - a gigantic subterranean organism - for their existence. Realising this weakness, Structure's Commander Supreme, General WIlliam Myson, orders Colonel Viktor Saskov to go to Seriatt to kill the basillia and retrieve the time gate. But there are powerful forces at work which could disrupt their plans. Meanwhile, the integrity of time itself is threatened - and only one man has the power to ensure that stability is maintained, and that the course of events runs true.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic novel!, 5 Sep 2007
The Liberty Gun rounds off the story arc set up in Martin Sketchley's two previous novels really well. The story leaps backwards and forwards through time through the book, so you need to keep an eye on the time stamps at the beginning of each section, but this is very effective. As the story progresses the problems faced by main character Delgado increase, reaching a climax at the end with the emotional darkness Sketchley is so good at. An excellent conclusion to a gripping trilogy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast speedy no nonsense read, 30 Oct 2007

A gripping and fast paced action conclusion to the series by Martin that will keep the reader happily glued to the pages. However the one problem is the speed with which the tale progresses which can get a little confusing if you're not making a note of the timeline as you go along. (I forgot and had to reread chapters to get it to make more sense.) Well written, great characters with a finish that doesn't disappoint.
