Product Description

Review

Robert M. Goodman

Professor of Plant Pathology, University of Wisconsin-Madison

Peter Pringle presents the most comprehensive and lucid account yet of the history, science, and politics of food made with genetic engineering. Along the way he tells many fascinating stories, among them an account of the great Russian botanist N. I. Vavilov and how his massive food-crop seed collection came to be spared from Hitler's bombardment of Leningrad.

Product Description

A balanced and well-researched account of the dispute over genetically modified foods. The British government must make a decision by Spring 2004 as to where the UK stands in this matter and the author exposes the propaganda science and fear-mongering so prevalent in this issue.

This book is ideal starting point for people with an open mind, how want to know the truth about biotechnology ?
What the current technology is capable of ?
Some of the possible pit falls with this new technology, and what they could be ?
It also gives details of what problems Scientists have with the many BIo - tech companies and their many patentson this relatively new product ?
It is well writen and I found the information right up to date.
