An affecting, honest, and charming account of a rural boyhood. Tells you a lot about the man that the boy in the book grew into, but stands completely alone in being a fascinating and emotionally engaging account of growing up on a southern farm. Of interest to historians, anthropologists, politicians, but most of all anyone who wants a heart-warming and fascinating read.
