5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant, 28 Nov 2000
By A Customer
The latest addition to the Shannara epic is written in an engrossing style which has only been matched by his first the novel the sword of shannara. The first part of the story is based around the set up of the voyage that Walker, the druid is to take following the map discovered on an elven prince, who was the last remains of a previous trip. In search of the elfstones and new unseen magic they begin their search. This is where the story really takes off with the mix of great character progression and storylines which you won't want to put down until you've read every word. In fact the only problem with this book, if there is one, is that once you've finished the book you will be left with an urge to read the next book (which unfortunately isn't out until october of next year.
