1.0 out of 5 stars Let's do the time warp again: Pulp SF for the 40's, 18 May 2002
By A Customer
I decided to buy the book against my better judgment: I thought the subtitle (which certainly sounds like something from a 40's or 50's Astounding cover story!) might just be some failed marketing gimmick.

Instead, this book should certainly be judged by its cover. It contains the typical overused plot elements (galactic empire, giant clunky computers with nary a PC in sight, lone brave hero with mysterious past, hyperspace pirates, even a bona fide princess!), the adjective-filled pulp purple prose, and even the same rehashed ideas which would hardly have been original back then...
