5.0 out of 5 stars A great deck - with a modern twist, 29 Dec 2005
This is a tarot deck in all respects except the title. It can be used by anybody for self development, exploring of ideas, or opening up those creative forces. It is such a simple system, and a real eye opener for those who want to try something that little bit different.

I have been a tarot reader for many years, but have found some people are put off by the term 'tarot'. At the end of the day it is a tool for self development, but in the modern world the word 'tarot' does not sit well. Thus this deck has found a way of putting across the same principles, whilst retaining a user-friendly feel. This is one of the very few decks I have come across that can do this. Without a doubt this is the best of the bunch.

The images of the cards are very much in line with aspects of modern day life. Most of us will be able to relate to them with relative ease. The accompanying book helps us delve that little bit deeper whereby we can look into the card in depth, thus helping us unblock issues or clarify ways forward. The language used is simplified without being patronising. Key words are also given which can definitely lend themselves to group discussions within a business context.

Overall, I love this deck. I can see it being used for those situations where the spiritual or insightful viewpoint may not be appropriate. Certainly a deck I can use at work when I feel the way forward is within my grasp but not as clear as it could be. Being a card and book set, this is also great value.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for Tarot AND Brainstorming., 13 Oct 2009
By Mr. D. W. Mcconnell "opal_luna_saturnine" (Buckinghamshire, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
After using the Rider-Waite deck for many years, I wanted to try something different. I saw this deck mentioned in a book by the same writer called 'Absolute Beginners Guide to Tarot' and was intrigued seeing the designs as being quite contemporary. After purchasing the cards and reading the accompanying book; it all seemed to make more sense and these are very expressive cards that tempt you to draw out your own interpretation rather than slavishly depending on referring to the book. They are a real pleasure to use.

Reading further on in the book I reached the section that suggests using the cards to brainstorm ideas, for - amongst other things, writing stories. Since I run table top Role Playing Games and need to write an incredible amount of material - I found using the cards great for bringing up ideas for plots by interpreting the images in the context of how they would fit in and refer to characters and situations that are already in play. This was a really worthwhile buy.
