Waking The Wild Spirit, 30 Mar 2005
This is a very beautiful tarot deck and one ideal for pagans I feel. This is slightly different to what I would call normal Tarot the images are very nature based. The accompanying book also deviates from the mainsream in that each card has its own story, which I think is a good idea as in some ways it can help you understand the cards a little easier. The names of the major arcana is different than normal: Fool - Wandering Minstrel Magician - Cunning Man High Priestess - Wise woman Empress - Mother Nature Emperor - Lord of the Wild High Priest - Interpreter Lovers - Soul Mates Chariot - Hunter Strength - Natural Force Hermit - Healer Wheel - Dance of Life Justice - Hooded One Hanged Man - Silence Death - Rebirth Temperance - Inner Child Devil - Fiddler Tower - Lightning Tree Star - Source Moon - Mother Two Moons Sun - Sky Dancer Judgement - Transformation World - Reaper I have found since learning this one that has been quite an obstacle as I am fairly new to Tarot learning one way and then these cards being slighly different can be a bit confusing but, even so that woyuld not put me off using these cards. The Minor Arcana is different as well: Swords - Air Wands - Fire Cups - Water Pentacles - Earth These give these a very Pagan flavour which I liked, and in some ways maybe someone who is Pagan but, hasn't used Tarot before may find those easier to work with. The cards are quite a large size, I compare them to my Gilded Tarot which is a good size to work with but, these are quite good. The images on the back of the cards are really nice and pleasing on the eye too. I would highly recommend this deck.
