5.0 out of 5 stars Super Book for Understanding Modern Web Design, 20 Oct 2002
I have used Javascript, CSS and DOM before but needed a more solid understanding of these subjects. The clear and direct style of the author made it an ideal book for me and clarified many confusing concepts in an straightforward way. The author exudes detail knowledge about the latest (2002) browsers and their eccentricities (bugs!) and shows how to deal with them easily.

For those who are unaware, Dynamic HTML (DHTML) is the interaction of Javascript, CSS and DOM, so this book covers this subject as well! All topics are covered in a way that gently eases the reader into the meaty stuff painlessly. Many other computer book authors spend their time trying to show off their expertise, making their book confusing and incomprehensible. You won't find this here - Makiko Itoh has in-depth knowledge of her subject and genuinely wants to share this knowledge.

Like all books, this one is not totally free of typos but there are not many, thankfully. The book left me feeling confident and enthusiastic about creating good looking web pages that work well in real life. I fully recommend this book to those who can write HTML but want to extend their web skills.
