From the Author
Why I wrote this book. When I was approached to write this book I was hesitant. I thought to myself, "Who am I to tell others how they should do things?". In the end I came to the conclusion that sharing my experiences and viewpoints may in fact be beneficial to some. So, I decided to accept. This book is a good starting point for anyone starting in the computer networking field, especially to those that have to monitor and maintain computer networks. At the very least it will shed some light on why certain aspects of Cisco routers are the way they are. For the experienced Network Operator, you may find ideas on ways to use Cisco routers that may not have thought of before.
