5.0 out of 5 stars THE definitive IIS 5.0 book, literally the place to start., 7 Jan 2001
This book provides all the background information you need to get started with version 5.0. Provides detail from the ground up, ensuring that you have a strong basis for any work you need to do with IIS.

This book is a copy of the documentation that is available in MSDN and on the web, but the book is much more useful as a learning tool - the only negatives for the book are its lack of coverage on the Indexing service, (which is pretty key to seting up any reasonable sized web site).

As a software developer I was unhappy to find that Windows 2000 professional only allows one web site to be created, which is pretty limiting for a dev environment. So the server edition is required to actually use all the features covered in the book.

The reference section of the book ensures that the book is destined to stay on your book shelf as a constant helper.

IIS 5.0 is a big product and this book is the best place to learn about the principles and practices of a MS based website.
