Product Description

Product Description

Orphaned as a child, Dani grew up on the streets of London as a pickpocket. One night, she is caught by the handsome libertine she is attempting to rob. Impressed by her skills, Jeremy Malory decides to hire Dani to steal back jewels he lost in a card game.

From the Back Cover

A passionate new Regency romance featuring the ever-popular Malory family.

Danny has grown up on the streets of London as a pickpocket, remembering nothing of her past. One night, she is apprehended by the handsome young aristocrat she is attempting to rob. Jeremy Malory is strangely drawn towards this waif and persuades her to help him steal back some jewels his friend lost in a card game. Danny demands that Jeremy takes her in, and he hires her as his maidservant – although he wants her as his mistress.

Danny blossoms into a lady under Jeremy’s guidance, but she refuses his amorous attentions because she knows he will never marry her. But as the attraction between the two of them intensifies, they embark upon a passionate battle of wills, and in a Cinderella-like transformation,
Danny becomes a charming beauty, appearing at a society ball where her appearance raises questions about her true identity – questions which threaten not only her chances of capturing Jeremy’s heart, but her very life… --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Loving Scoundrel, 19 May 2004
By maureen johnston (dyce, aberdeen United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Having waited so long for Jeremy's story, I was afraid the expectation and anticipation would ultimately lead to disappointment, and although it's not up there with the original Malory novels, I still enjoyed it immensley.
After an encounter with Jeremy, Danni is "persuaded" to help him in a favour, which results in Danni being kicked out of the gang she has spent 15 years on the streets with. Deciding Jeremy owes her, she demands a job as his maid and it's not long before Jeremy decides he wants more than just a bit of dusting done, Into this add the usual mix of interfering Malory's and you have another Johanna Lindsey hit.
I hope this is not the last Malory Novel, because I'd love to see Drew next meeting his match.

5.0 out of 5 stars Back at last!!, 13 Dec 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: A Loving Scoundrel (Paperback)
Ms Lindsey has not been at her best in the last few books but this one was very good. The story had romance, mystery and intrigue that usually comes with a good Lindsey Romance. It's also an addition to the Malory family and I must say after reading this story I'm not as disappointed with The present as I was when I initially read it. I do agree that too much emphasis was put on the language used but thats in line with the story of a street thief coming into league with aristrocrats. I loved the mention of the old favorites such as Tony and James. If you've read any of Ms Lindseys old books then you'll appreciate this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally Jeremy Mallorys' story, 29 Jun 2004
I loved this book having read all of the Malloy stories I was glad that Jeremy finally got his own. The heroine "Dana" is a great counterbalance of bravado and innocence who matches Jeremy totally. This book gives us the romance, intigue and comedy we all expect in a Johanna Lindsey book and as usual you are left wanting to know more about the other members of the family and hoping for their stories.
