Cynthia Harrod-Eagles was born in London, obtaining a BA degree in English at University College, London. She had a variety of jobs in the commercial world including pensions officer at the BBC before becoming a full-time novelist in 1979. Cynthia lives in London, is married and has one daughter and two stepchildren.
