It would be quite wrong for any review of this book to go into too much detail about the actual crime under discussion - that would spoil things for any potential reader.

What can be said is that the author is a first-rate writer and a very keen mind.

This tragic case still baffles armchair sleuths all over the world and Goodman does a great job of separating the (many) myths from the facts, thus giving the reader a half-decent chance of making up their own mind.

The murderer did his worst but Goodman has done his best.
