1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, 23 Oct 2002
When i looked at the blurb on the back of the book it seemed to promise so much. A life altering experience no less. However after spending 2 hours reading i was no better off than i started off with. All of us have social intelligence to a certain extent. Some more than others. However nobodies will be improved radically by this book. Some of Buzans best advice is that when you meet people you smile and shake their hand. The advice he does give is too superficial and lacks any detail or anyway to improve on it. He then later on in the book refers to items he seemingly taught you and tells you to use those skills with ones he is attempting to quickly gloss over.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quick and easy entry, 12 April 2006

If you are interested in a quick and easy entry to a part of emotional intelligence this might be the book to start with. Depending were you are with your self development you may find some parts of the book on the low end and not challenging. However, I think there are plenty of suggestions how to improve your social intelligence (or relationship managemnt as it is called in Daniel Goleman's EQ model).

2.0 out of 5 stars the power of social intelligence, 6 Jul 2009

this book really is o.k.,but not really any more than that!..it's pretty obvious stuff, but does mention whole brain thinking..which is great advice..HOWEVER,it's not so great a book i'd say'you've gotta buy it',but it's not so bad either...and will help motivate you to do something about socialising, realising that a book can only get you to do this,by trial and error!

Glad I borrowed this from the library and didn't waste my own cash on it.
