5.0 out of 5 stars A very funny and great book about being single!, 11 Nov 2002
By A Customer
A great book for all women who have been dumped or who are single. It's a very good companion to feel good in the state of singledom, and a very funny book which make us have a great and funny look about being single (cf "32 things that are great about being single", one of the best part of the book). The book contains a lot of good advices about how to go through the pain of a heartbreak and how to enjoy our single life. It shows us that it's not awful to live a single life, though the society try to convince us that we miss something, it's already hard to be single ourselves, so the society has to redefine his view, when there are more and more single people. This book will give you hope and fun, it's easy to read. The author understands very well all the feelings of women. It gives good advices and makes
you feel not alone in this state of singledom. The book has been published in association with Cosmopolitan. Really great, and you'll feel like losing a good friend when you'll finish it. I recommend it to every single woman, it's really a great
help and even if you're not sad and desperate about being single, it's a great fun to read it!

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, of limited relevance, 18 Jul 2003
By A Customer
As a 28-year-old woman who's never had a relationship, I was attracted to this book, but ultimately disappointed at how little was relevant to my situation. The author devoted just two pages to the situation of "What to do if you've never had a relationship" and these two pages are tucked away in the chapter on "Sex and the Single Girl". The rest of the book assumes that all readers will have a track record of previous relationships. Not only that, but Bristow assumes that (a) all single woman have experienced a cohabiting relationship and (b) live on their own, not in flatshares. The "32 Things that are great about being single" only make sense in this context. Bristow has nothing to say about how to get on the property ladder when you're single, or indeed what to do if you split up with someone you were sharing a mortgage with. Nor does she have anything to say to women who have been made single through bereavement.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book kept me sane, 31 Oct 2009

(REAL NAME)
I love this book. It helped me realise that the stages of being single I was going through were completely normal. I've bought it for all my friends that have broken up with someone and they all felt much better. Being single can be great - and this book helps you realise and really feel that. I also love Single and Fabulous: Feel Fabulous When You're Single (Space To Be - Love Range) which I listen to alongside this book and helps me remember how fabulous I am - with or without a man!
