5.0 out of 5 stars best description I have come across of the essence of yoga, 6 Jun 2002
By A Customer
As someone who has practised yoga for over 20 years and taught for 7 years I find the theoretical section of this book the best and most accessable description I have come across of the essence and purpose of yoga - what it is and how it works - read and find out.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not for beginners!, 23 Jan 2001
By A Customer
If you already have some knowledge of yoga, then this book may be of use, but I would not recommend it for a beginner. There is far too much reading to be done in order to master the postures. Indeed you will face the additional challenge of holding this book whilst you try to work out what you are meant to be doing! This of course is true of all yoga books. I think that books can only supplement classes and not replace them.
