By A Customer
I bought this book on the recommendation of my dieticians and others in the medical profession, but I found it practically useless for my purposes. Cooking for someone with multiple severe allergies requires recipes that avoid many common foods, in our case wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts and seeds, fish, rye, plus many fruits and vegetables. Those sorts of recipes are not included in this book, though it is probably useful for those with just one or two allergies. What I was hoping for was (1) a guide to substitutions in common recipes (in baking for instance) as well as (2) some product information (for instance rice comes in dozens of forms from flour to drinks to crisps) and (3) nutritional information about ingredients. There is a bit of each of these but nothing comprehensive.
