Product Description

Product Description

An introduction to the essentials of McTimoney Chiropractic -- a unique method of 'body adjustment' based on sound chiropractic principles. Whether suffering from back pain, a pinched nerve, headache, migraine, sciatica ofr asthma, people are searching for a permanent solution, not simply a quick fix. McTimoney Chiropractic is an excellent alternative form of healing. The Essentials of McTimoney Chiropractic is the first guide to this fast growing holistic approach to traditional Chiropractic technique. Chiropractic is based on the principle that the body's well-being is dependent on the nerve supply to the rest of the body. McTimoney Chiropractic aims not only to relieve symptoms, but to treat and realign the whole body. In the last 25 years, McTimoney has appealed to all age groups -- it is gentle enough to be used on young or old and even the traumatically ill. The Essentials of McTimoney Chiropractic describes the history, aims and thinking behind this form of spine and joint manipulation. It is ideal for practitioners and healers and all those who wish to know more about alternative body work.

3.0 out of 5 stars An interesting summary of a valid chiropractic technique, 13 Oct 2000
By A Customer
A well written, clear and interesting look at the McTimoney method of chiropractic, demonstrating that McTimoney chiropractors are far from the alleged 'quacks' suggested by some. The gentle and holistic approach of the technique is outlined, providing an absorbing introduction to the McTimoney chiropractic technique. Incidentally, in all the recent shake up surrounding the chiropractic profession, the McTimoney Chiropractic course was formally recognised by the General Chiropractic Council; thus placing McTimoney Chiropractors on a level with the so-called 'real' chiropractors.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good read, 31 May 2005
By A Customer
This book discusses McTimoney chiropractic, a technique and a philosophy no better or worse than any other type of chiropractic, American, British or otherwise. It doesn't claim to discuss other forms in great details, and so doesn't. The book reads very well and manages to put its view across without insulting any other part of the profession. I would recommend this book wholeheartedly as a balanced read to anyone interested in chiropractic from any angle.

4.0 out of 5 stars A readable and clear explanation of McTimoney Chiropractic, 29 Feb 2000
By A Customer
An easy to read book with clear explanations of how and why the technique works. As McTimoney Chiropractors represent one third of the Chiropractic profession in the UK (all of whom must be members of the regulating body - the General Chiropractic Council) anyone considering trying chiropractic would find this book a useful insight into how this particularly gentle but effective technique works.
