Whether or not you follow all the rather whacky recipes given in this book, the basic message is clear and important - there is more to dieting and healthy eating than simple calorie control. This book explains the important influences of food on hormone balance and how this in turn affects general health and wellbeing. The sections on food choice and dietary supplementation are excellent. This is not another 'fad' diet book - it is serious, sensible and scientific and contains valuable advice for everybody interested in having a healthy, balanced diet.

I started this diet a few months before I was about to get married. At first it seemed pretty slow. I wasn't really loosing weight. But I stuck at it and I the few pounds I was trying to shed. I also noticed that the IBS that I've suffered from for years cleared up and I felt great with loads of energy. Unfortunately though this didn't last and I developed gastritis. I'm not entirely sure whether this was anything to do with the diet but now I'm trying to get rid of it I'm on a low fat diet with less protein.
The only real problem with the book is the recipes. There really isn't anything very inspiring or tasty in there.

I FOUND IT QUITE HARD TO GET USED TO THE EATING PATTERN. IT IS NOT A STRAIGHT FORWARD DIET SAYING DO NOT EAT THIS AND THIS. YOU HAVE TO EAT EXACT AMOUNTS OF PROTEIN, CARBS AND FAT AT EACH MEAL, AND NOT HAVE LARGE TIME LAPSES BETWEEN MEALS. IF YOU SKIP MEALS OR LIKE CONVENIENCE FOOD THIS IS NOT THE DIET FOR YOU. IF YOU HAVE TIME TO PLAN YOUR MEALS IT IS A VERY HEALTHY DIET.
