Product Description

Product Description

An essential introduction to Deepak Chopra's theory of the healing power of the mind, Creating Health is the definitive guide to his philosophy about the mind/body connection. Blending Eastern and Western medical philosophy, Chopra puts together a clear and easy path to follow for perfect physical and emotional health. With influences from Ayurveda, the 6,000-year-old tradition of medicine from India, Chopra uses Western terminology to explain how we can reassess health and disease and shows how, by focusing on self-awareness, compassion and the mind, we can improve our physical well being. In this book, he also introduces the benefits of meditation and creative visualization. --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as good as the first edition, 20 May 2001
By A Customer
The first edition was written in 1990, before he became commercialised and fell out with the Transcendental Meditaton organisation. He has altered some of the key recommendations and techniques, and the 1996 version is a watered down and poorer version.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent introduction to Dr Chopra's philosphy of health, 29 Feb 2000
By A Customer
This is a revision of the original, groundbreaking book which introduces the basic principles of Ayurveda and the vital importance of meditation along with a sound understanding of the mind/body connection. Popular with a generation of readers since its first publication in 1987, it is an excellent introduction to Dr Chopra's philosophies on health.

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative, encouraging and interesting., 10 Jul 2000
"Creating Health" is an informative guide that describes a broad range of illnesses such as heart disease, cancer and fatigue. It offers encouraging advice towards healing for those who are actually sick leading to options towards creating perfect health through understanding life and the self as part of a balanced natural world. It can be a bit mind-blowing but I liked the provocation of thought it engendered.
