4.0 out of 5 stars Dark, twisted and well worth a read, 15 Oct 2003
Beware - the completely mind-bending concept in this book will have you thinking about it again and again throughout your day! The book is set in an overpopulated world that has handled the crowding problem in rather a unique way!
It is thoroughly entertaining and carries the reader into and out of the lives of a number of characters, each of whom is endearing in their own way.
Poor points of the book are its disjointed plot - some may argue that this added to the book, but I don't agree - and its slightly confusing start.
This book's main asset is its atmosphere. It smacks of a cold, unfeeling world.
Well worth a read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sci Fi, 29 May 2005
By A Customer
I picked up this book on holiday just to pass the time - not knowing anything about the author or the subject. I was delighted with this book - it is light and very clever for those who love fantasy stories.
I enjoyed it very much

5.0 out of 5 stars I re read this book., 10 Jan 2010

I read this book when I was a teenager numerous times. I liked the way it took a day in the life of the main character and the way his life was interwoven with the other characters. I always think of this book on 20 April. You will have to read it to know why. I only read three books when I was a kid. This was one of them.
