Sameem's book is a source of inspiration not just for those who have suffered abuse at the hands of their family or who have experienced forced marriage but for all women.

Read it, love it and approach your life with a renewed sense of purpose and determination inspired by this wonderful woman's story.

Such a heartbreaking book you can't imagine all of it has happened to just one person! Abused, married off at 13, kidnapped, and the target of an honour killing, Sameem Ali's story moved me to tears. A definite must-read, one that will shock and engross you at every step.

This is the very moving sad story of a British Pakistani girl happily brought up in a childrens' home until her mother came to collect her and plunged her into a life of servitude and abuse,forced marriage and pregnancy at 13,and the abuse of her son while she was forced to work,until she got the courage to run away from it all.
This very well told story gets right inside the goings on in a Pakistani household in Britain as a native Brit would see it.It clearly describes the problems that the worst aspects of Muslim culture causes to the daughters of the family,although Sameem's treatment was definitely far worse because of her English upbringing in the childrens' home.
I found it an excellent read and it was very hard to put down.
