4.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating account of the tunnels and rivers under London, 11 Mar 2000
Trench and Hillman take you on the complete guided tour of London's hidden ways, from the sewers to the rivers to the Underground. While comprehensive in some areas (notably the history of tunnelling under the Thames), the volume could do with more detail on the "lost" Underground stations and the military architecture beneath the City. Still an extremely good text, despite this, and well worth reading.

2.0 out of 5 stars An average book on sub-surface London, 6 Jul 1999
By A Customer
After reading other people's reviews, I quite convinced that this book at least had to be relatively good. However, I was rather disapointed and I heartly reccomend reading Andrew Duncan's "Secret London" instead.

3.0 out of 5 stars Engrossing if occassionally inaccurate and incomplete., 14 Feb 2000
By A Customer
A very interesting work. Occassionally inaccurate, certainly incomplete and a little meandering. Nonetheless a welcome addition to my library.
