Product Description

Product Description

Alan Partridge is Britain's most remarkable broadcaster. He's scaled the giddy heights of a short-lived TV chat show, and the crashing lows of twenty-six weeks in a motel equidistant between Norwich and London. He's survived the death of a guest on air, his wife leaving him for a fitness instructor, an encounter with a mentalist fan, being crushed beneath a dead cow and incomplete sex with a woman he was supposed to be sacking. He's suffered a breakdown, Toblerone addiction, weight gain and his autobiography Bouncing Back being withdrawn and pulped. But Alan continues to bounce back - resilience and Gordon are his middle names. He's still playing his eclectic mix of music and hosting phone-ins on subjects as controversial as 'Should the police learn Kung-Fu?' and 'How long could you survive on just crisps?' Alan Partridge: Every Ruddy Word charts Alan's incredible journey - from his first, unforgettable radio chat show, to the recent construction of a house to his own specifications. Why don't you join him? Join him...

About the Author

Alan Partridge presents Up With the Partridge on Radio Norwich and a military-based game show on cable TV. He'll soon be living in a house built to his own specifications in the outskirts of Norwich. He drives a Lexus. (Scripts and extra material by Steve Coogan, Armando Ianucci, Peter Baynham and Patrick Marber)

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely stuff, 11 Jul 2005
No surprises here. If you've seen or heard the shows, they are reproduced here for your reading pleasure. Ideal for when you are away somewhere without access to the DVDs - if you know the programmes well enough it's just like watching them in your own head.

There are a few little extras, which although good are not worth buying the book for alone - you will need to enjoy the scripts themselves to be a worthwhile purchase.

Hardcore Partridge fans may notice quite a number of errors. FOr example, the DUchess of Stranraer for some reason has been documented as the Duchess of Stranraugh.

Nevertheless is has to get 5 stars for soem of the most entertaining radio and TV I've seen.

5.0 out of 5 stars Be careful it's valuable
This book is simply all the scripts for everything that Alan Partridge has ever done (minus, I suppose, the sketches from The Day Today). The writing is genius. Read more
