Product Description

Colour photographs by Derry Brabbs illustrate these extracts from books by James Herriot, showing how little has changed in the uplands of the North York Moors since the days of his life and work as a vet in the area, especially Thirsk, better known to his fans as Darrowby.

5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST for any lover of Yorkshire!, 19 May 2000
By A Customer
This book is an exceptionally beautiful portrait of the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire countryside. The photographs represent an excellent overview of the Herriot Country at its best. They bring to life the outstanding beauty which makes this area so unique...This book is a tremendous tribute to the memory of Alf Wight and his love of Yorkshire. Hopefully Jim Wight will do another!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for any Herriott fan., 10 Dec 1999
By A Customer
This is the book that will show you the views that so uplifted the spirit of James Herriott through all the good and bad times. Superb photographs taken from his favorite places, with poignant extracts from his books give the reader a further insight into the world of this country vet. These are views that even people who have travelled to Thirsk are not likely to have seen in their entirety. Thank you Jim Wight.
