Product Description
Synopsis
The Channel Tunnel is supposed to be impregnable to terrorism. It isn't. When a train is hijacked mid-tunnel everyone blames the IRA, but the truth is more sinister. Ruthless Hong Kong Triads are behind the outrage. The author also wrote "The Final Terror" and "The Financing of Terror".

This review is from: Taking the Tunnel (Paperback)
Absolutely brilliant. This was written in 1992 and some of the heads of state, political figures and historical events have overtaken fiction, but the story is faultless and could indeed happen! Hong Kong Triad gangs who are angered by the British government's decision not to give them British passports before Hong Kong is handed back to China plot to bring the country to its knees by hijacking a Channel Tunnel car-carrying shuttle train. The first half of the book details to planning and Hong Kong ploiceman Jonny Turnbull's attempts to track down Triad leader Dai Choi, who murdered his son ten years previous. But he will stick to his rules - no corruption, no gung-ho antics, which makes his life hard. The when the train is taken, the IRA decide to muscle in to increase their political standing amongst Ireland's terrorist fraternity. Will a special forces intervention put a stop to the murders beneath the English Channel, and will Jonny Turnbull get his payback? Read this and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. My only complaint is why has this not been made into a movie?
