Product Description

Product Description

While many books have dealt with the 'stages of dying', and particularly the stages of acceptance of death, this is the first to demonstrate how to open the immensity of living with death. 'Who Dies?' shows us how to participate fully in life as the perfect preparation for whatever may come next, be it sorrow or joy, loss or gain, death or a new wonderment at life. Stephen's work is magic. His work with the grieving and dying is amongst the most skilful and compassionate that I am aware of. Elizabeth Kubler-Ross This book has addressed itself to the many aspects of the dying process with refreshing insight, candour, and lightness. It divests the incredible melodrama called 'death' of its frightful power, supplanting fear with calm, simple, compassionate understanding. from the Preface by Ram Dass Other books by Stephen Levine Embracing the Beloved A Gradual Awakening Guided Meditations, Explorations and Healings Healing into Life and Death Meeting at the Edge.

5.0 out of 5 stars Everyone should read this book, 15 Dec 2000
By A Customer
I bought this book when I was working with patients with HIV/AIDS and later turned to it to help me when a close friend was diagnosed with motor-neurone disease. It helped and sustained me in a profound way. I have since lent it to many patients who are struggling either because they know someone who is terminally ill, or because they have issues of their own around death that I feel they need help with. I do believe that everyone should read this book. At some point we all have to cope with death and Stephen Levine is a remarkable writer - this book can help. Buy it now.

5.0 out of 5 stars It cured my obsession with death, 6 Aug 2005
For 6 months now I have had an obsession with death where I was thinking continuously that I'm going to die or not going to die. And I was starting to become very frightened especially in public where I thought that other people would hear my thoughts. So lately I have been at home feeling more secure, afraid of going out. I thought first when I received the book I thought that it would be crummy, a few weeks later I thought I would give it a try and to my happiness it has removed my obsession with death and made me more safe anywhere and unafraid of the world. Thank you Stephen Levine you're a gem.
