Synopsis
An acclaimed intuitive tells the compelling story of her conversion - unsought, unwanted - from a mainstream media professional to become a spiritual teacher. 'Provides fascinating evidence of an extraordinary interaction between meditation and acute physical illness. I have read it with great interest.' Lord Rees-Mogg 'This book takes the reader on an extraordinary journey into the soul. Michal Levin's courage and wisdom shine through each word, and cannot fail to move and inspire.' Bel Mooney 'The story of the unsought spiritual unfolding of a remarkable woman who by dint of tremendous courage and faith in herself realised a gift beyond price. Michal Levin has, in turn given her readers the gift of her hard-won wisdom in this inspiring and altogether gripping book.' Kenneth Ring, Professor Emeritus of Psychology University of Connecticut, author of 'Heading Toward Omega'.

5.0 out of 5 stars A spiritual life in the material world, 3 Nov 1998
By A Customer
Michal Levin's autobiography details how the world of spirit pulled her away from her successful media career and into the title's 'Pool of Memory'. She learns to 'see' energy - the auric fields surrounding people - to intuit diagnoses to their problems and to offer healing. Much to her bewilderment, she finds her newly aquired gifts recognised by spiritual teachers and Tibetan Buddhist masters. Her journey towards the light leads her to India, where she encounters Sai Baba, and to the Himalayas, where she sits with the Dalai Llama alongside Richard Gere.Eventually her insight is needed to save herself; after successive doctors fail to detect a brain tumour, Michal is 'directed'to one who does. Elegantly written, this is the testimony of a woman blessed with the kind of connection to the spiritual world for which many 'seekers' strive. It is not, however, your usual new age book, full of abstract principles.Though it features both uplifting and discomfiting spiritual experiences - yes, there are angels involved - the book is written by someone rooted in the here and now. The book shows how the challenge of the spiritual life is to integrate it into the everyday world around us.In this respect it is a thoroughly modern and relevant text. An extraordinary and moving book from a remarkable woman.
