4.0 out of 5 stars A good algorithm reference for the technical programmer., 25 Mar 2001
Although it is aimed at the academic world, with the inclusion exercises at the end of each chapter, it is also a good reference for commercial programmers. The book covers a wide range of algorithm topics, starting from elementary data structures, through divide and conquer right up to NP and parallel systems. Each topic includes a mix of explanation, mathematical background and code examples. Only really for people who have a strong programming and mathematical background, it can get fairly technical in places. I thought this was an excellent book. Would have had five stars if the code examples hadn't trailed off towards the end.
