Thurston (London, UK) - See all my reviews    If you have any interest in understanding, or especially teaching, the mathematical ideas and beauty of geometry then you will enjoy this book. It allows the reader to explore the whole range of school geometry in an accessible and attractive format. It is not just that it is beautifully illustrated and well laid out, but that it has such a rich and well researched set of examples and references to other sources. I hesitated over the price, but have not regretted it since. It is a well made hardback edition that should last for years. Non-US readers may find that some of the examples require a little background in US culture (think baseball not cricket), but they are not intrusive. They are also balanced by examples (in the original languages) from Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, etc, geometry books. It includes *lots* of exercises, with selected answers.
