5.0 out of 5 stars What an absolutely fantastic book!, 8 Aug 2003

(REAL NAME)
I love this book! Mr Maxwell has a fantastic style of writing which is so easy to follow and really gets you thinking about the way that we are training our horses.

This book is fantastic. Its got 3 main chapters, one detailing groundwork which helps the horses balance and helps to form a bond between the two of you. The second chapter progresses to 'distance work'. It gives a very good description of long-lining and the processes associated with it. The third is ridden work where you bring everything together. Other chapters cover problems you may encounter and how to correct them and a bit about horse behaviour.

All of the exercises are accompanied by step-by-step pictures which really helps visualise what you are ment to be doing. It has loads of pictures of the wonderful Pelo also. He was a truely magnificant horse.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent book, 29 Dec 2003
By A Customer
This is a really good clear book with lots of practical information. It's a fresh way of looking at training and thinking about one's own behaviour and assessment of the horse. I have found it invaluable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant, even when not following the book thouroughly, 28 Oct 2003
By A Customer
I recently bought a 5yo ex racherhorse & bought this book a few weeks ago. It is very detailed yet easy to follow and even though I haven't been following the training program thoroughly, I have used a lot of the techniques mentioned in the book and already my horse and I are making great progress.
