5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent title that lives up to it's name!, 13 Dec 2001
By A Customer
Michael Peace's first book, written with Lesley Bayley, is the best that I have come across in the genre of horse behaviour. It is clearly written and beautifully illustrated with excellent photographs.

The first thing that struck me throughout the whole book, was Michael's own body language in the photographs, never threatening or aggressive. His whole philosophy is of co-operation, not domination and submission. This book is a must for anyone who wants to know how a horse thinks and reacts, in order better to train him without force, communicating with him in a way which he understands. Too many riders expect their horses to think like a human- big mistake!!

'Think Like Your Horse' will show you how to build a partnership based on mutual trust and respect that can only come about through a thorough understanding of the mind and natural reactions of the horse.

4.0 out of 5 stars Generally a good book, 21 Feb 2005
By Bentley (United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
I bought this book and thought it was quite good. I think I would have preferred more clearer descriptions in connection with the photographs, in particular showing the author's stance in relation to the horse. In essence this book was good with photographs and in the main pretty clear.

I would prefer more books like this which show how to teach a horse without cruel methods. It teaches you how to understand your horse too.
