4.0 out of 5 stars Just about everything you would need to know, 20 Oct 2001
By A Customer
This book is ideal for both first time and experienced foal handlers. It tells you just about everything you could possibly need to know form ailments to breaking and handling. It offers sound advice for the care of both the mare and foal. The only thing I found about it was thta it was possibly geered for the more fussy horse owner, many of the things it advises you to do are unnecessary, but that's a matter of choice. It has good colour photos of all stages of foaling and the foal's first few years. There are innoculation and worming charts to save you the hassle of figuring them out yourself as well as a table to figure out you mare's EDD. A very useful book and a must-have for anyone with foals or a mare in foal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely clear and concise, 28 Aug 2001
By A Customer
The first book I purchased regarding breeding and foaling, and probably the best! Every stage is explained in a clear and easy to understand fashion, illustrated where appropriate - it's like having an expert with you in the stable. Sure to become my "bible" nearing my mare's due date!!
