Product Description

A cookery book which provides recipes for cooking with game. Game meat and fish are naturally low in fat and therefore low in calories, and can be prepared as easily by microwave as by conventional cooking methods.

In most shooting and fishing households it is the menfolk who have the pleasure of the day in the field and it seems to me only fair that they should also prepare the game they have brought home and present it ready for the oven to the sporting wife. Read the first page

5.0 out of 5 stars Jugging the hare, 1 Jan 2004
By A Customer
Marvellous to find a dedicated game book once again. There have been a few bibles in the past, but they went out of print just as a wider public began appreciating the pleasures of game. And along comes this excellent 'hands on' book which reintroduces lovely stinky well-hung game and proper jugged hare (aargh, cooked in its own blood). Rabbit, pheasant, partridge, fantastic. This book gives you the confidence to choose game and to keep it to the right level of rottedness, to pluck and draw, to use the gizzard and giblets, to drain blood to make sauces and gravies, a truly excellent volume for the non-Tesco cook.
