Product Description

Product Description

The great River Nile was the life staff of the Ancient Egyptians. Once a year it flooded its banks, depositing nutrient-rich soil and making Egypt one of the most fertile regions on Earth. As a result, the Egyptians enjoyed a wholesome diet. This cookbook recreates the flavours of Ancient Egypt with 35 recipes "pocket loaves" and dried fig and apricot jam, and fish with Tarator sauce.

4.0 out of 5 stars Food fit for modern times not just for Pharaohs, 11 Jul 2001
By A Customer
I had been looking for a book for a while on ancient egyptian food, and I found this one. Its a lovely book, with fantastic images alongside. The recipes are simple, and easy to follow, and they even taste good. I can recommend this not only for cooks, but for followers of egyptology.

Delicious blink on the daily life of an ancient Egyptian kitchen and the recipes can bring to our modern kitchens the same flavour as well
