5.0 out of 5 stars Falconry by Emma Ford, 24 Jul 2002
By A Customer
Having been new to Falconry, I was very pleased that this book told you all you needed to know as a beginner and will also be very useful as I advance. The book has a good layout making it easy to follow, with clear and precise detail for some of the movements required. I would recommend this to anyone else wanting to learn more about Falconry, and know I will find it a useful and interesting book for some time to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Essential Text, 26 Jun 2002
By MR SIMON N WHALLEY (Hemel Hempstead, Herts United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
As someone currently looking into taking up falconry I found this book to be an excellent introduction to the sport. The author works very hard to ensure that a beginner is presented with all the difficulties they will encounter when starting out in falconry without ever attempting to put people off. She is keen to point out that the care of the hawk is of paramount importance and only someone able to look after a hawk and give it plenty of exercise should consider purchasing one. The techniques for both training and caring for the hawk are well explained and also the making and apllication of much of the equipment used is discussed and demonstrated in a well thought out and clear manner. An essential book for the beginner that is excellenty written.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, but..., 9 Nov 2002
...for instance the Index can be vastly improved, and I found the (invaluable) information in the book to be quite dispersed throughout the book. For instance, to keep up with a topic, I had to resort to 8 (yes, eight!) post-it notes!
But as the previous reviewers pointed out, this is nevertheless an excellent choice for beginners - as myself!
