' A beginner's dream ' --Highland News (Feb 2009)

Product Description

Inspired by the RSPB's learnbirding.com website this great new book will launch beginner birders of all ages into the world of birds and birdwatching. The book has been split into six sections which cover: principles of identification and tips on making notes and recording; birdwatching equipment and field skills; how birds are built, how they work and where they come from; behaviour including breeding, feeding, migration and adaptation; bird habitats and distribution; how to help wild birds in your garden and beyond, current threats to birds and how to get involved in conservation.

5.0 out of 5 stars great way to learn about birds, 8 Feb 2009
By PG MORRISON (UK) - See all my reviews

This is a great way to start identifying birds and learn a bit more too. Good thing about it is starting from scrach and you don't need to know much about birds to understand and follow the guidance. Helpful book.

I loaned this book from the local library and because I liked it so much, I decided to buy a copy. Beautiful clear illustrations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely looking and totally fascinating, 1 Mar 2009
By Drys (London, UK) - See all my reviews
This book is great if you know nothing, or quite a bit about birds. Packed full of details of how to recognise birds - and tell similar ones apart. Makes you want to go out and look at birds NOW.
