Review

"This fantastic book is full of geat ideas for healthy eating and excellent recipes for no-hassle meals." Cross Stitch Crazy (March 2007)

Product Description

Healthy Eating for Kids is packed with essential advice on healthy eating, feeding fussy eaters, dealing with an overweight child, and plenty of tips for no-hassle meals, quick snacks and lunch boxes. It matters what children eat. The food they eat affects their health now, and it sets them up for the future. Children who enjoy a healthy, varied diet are more likely to be full of energy, feel brighter and more alert, suffer fewer colds and illnesses, and concentrate better at school. But healthy eating doesn't have to mean boring meals. It's all about making nutritious food appealing and fun for kids - and appearance counts as much as taste! Tested by parents and tasted by children, Anita's recipes will give you new idea and inspiration on what to feed your kids.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best of the genre!, 26 Feb 2005
I've got two little kids and a whole slew of this type of book. This one is certainly a cut above most. I want my kids to have the most healthy diet possible but am more than aware of how picky and difficult kids can be when it comes to mealtimes. The recipes in this book are simple and effective. I have tried many of them with success. My kids don't like everything I cook from here (that would really be an achievement) but the recipes work and they do manage to sneak in quite a lot of healthy stuff in a not too obvious way. Well over three quarters of the recipes are ones I would try, which is not bad for a recipe book. The book includes main meals, meat and vegetarian, soups, salads and healthy snacks (flapjacks, fruit smoothies, baking etc.). If you want to get your kids to eat a bit more healthily in a not too in-your-face way this book will definitely be a help.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gold dust hidden at the back, 28 Aug 2005
By A Customer
As with many recipe books oriented at parents desperately seeking something sensible to satisfy small tummies and generate some enthusiasm from their children, this book fills out space with things you probably already know- after all you are looking at a healthy eating book. There is a lot of information on nutrition and related issues which is repetition of what you'll most likely have seen esewhere, BUT, at the back, the small recipe section is filled with easy to make things that have my fussy two and four year olds showing enough interest to keep mealtime to a manageable 30 minutes with little nagging. This book is well worth a look for busy parents of all kinds - unpretentious and useful.

5.0 out of 5 stars How can I feed my children Healthy alternatives?, 26 Jul 2004
By A Customer
Today's parents are bombarded with conflicting ideas about correct diets for their children. And people that are reading this review are obviously very much concerned about the growing amounts of processed foods and the need for balanced, healthy recipes. Well, look no further... Here is an excellent recipe book to add to your kitchen shelf! Simple in layout and well thought out. Including some rather tasty recipes that all the family can enjoy aswell as some important facts that also give you food for thought. It is simplistic but this quailty means it appeals to the young cook at home as well as a busy parent. My only complaint is that I wish it had more recipes!
