Product Description

Product Description

Paper clay is still a relatively new material in the ceramic world. As an exciting new area, further developments are still being made. This 2nd edition replaces the old artwork with better images in colour, and the expanded text brings the reader up to date on the latest information. A new chapter explores the possibilities of large-scale work in depth. Paper clay is easy to use, as it is much stronger and will take much more abuse than normal clay. It is extremely strong in the unfired state which means changes and repairs can be made at almost every stage of the making process. The finished result is often indistinguishable from normal clay, but is much lighter, making it ideal for wall installations or complicated sculptural forms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Your only restriction in pottery now, is your Immagination, 22 Jan 2002
Having seen a brief referance to paper clay in another book I was fasinated to find out more.
This book is a must for any potter. Paper clay is not cheating, it just makes your craft so much more enjoyable as nothing is impossible.
The book is easy to read and understand without making the reader feel they are being taught to 'suck eggs'. My only dismay was that I finished reading it too soon and was hungry for more idea's.
