The book is interesting if you enjoy messing around in boats. There are designs from tenders to a high performance, gennicker equiped cruiser. The majority of boats are classic/older design boats that would look dated in a modern marina. The diagrams are, in many cases too small to be useful. In many ways the book appears to be a broucher of boat designs giving contact details of the designers. There is insufficient information to construct the boats and the lines plan drawings require work before they could be used. There is also a GZ-curve (righting arm) which shows a cruising houseboat with a positive righting arm up to 180', which is an impressive statistic (read wrong!). In summary the book has many interesting designs but a frustrating lack of detail and is difficult to see who the book is aimed at, naval architects/designers, enthusiastic amatures, builders... and what purpose the book is supposed to serve.
