5.0 out of 5 stars Solid advice from a nice guy who moves fast!, 11 Mar 2007
By K. J. Rochester "Kerry" (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Mountain Bike Racing (Hardcover)
Tim Gould has been described as one of the most nice guys you could wish to meet off the bike. On it he was a tenacious and skilled rider who mercilessly took apart his peers - and the harder the course the better. In his and Simon's book they share some of the secrets that made Tim world class. Though, the book is written in such a way that we can all understand it. I've had mine since the first printing and always drift back to it for a revisit to knowledge from a true MTB great.

2.0 out of 5 stars If you want to learn MTB techniques, forget this book, 21 April 1999
By A Customer
I really don't like this book for at least two reasons: 1) it's completely out of date: today's bycicles are very different from those in the book 2) the section on technique is too scarce and inaccurate. For example, if you want to learn how to bunny-hop, don't follow this book's advices. You won't learn the right technique. (When I first saw this book I thought it was quite good, but now that I'm an experinced rider I can see I was completely wrong!)
